Hi! I’m Shara, the owner and artist behind JorTené Arts. When I first began painting, it was all for fun—a way to relieve stress and bring some cool colors to canvas. I bought my first easel in 2012 and set up in my dining room. As I learned more techniques, I received great feedback and requests from friends and family for custom artwork.

Two years later, I decided to take the leap and launched JorTené Arts! While the shop was officially open, life had other plans. I faced the challenges of motherhood, including caring for a child who required multiple surgeries to correct a birth defect. Painting became something I did casually, and I didn’t put much energy into growing the business. At one point, I even took a year-long hiatus from painting. My inspiration felt completely gone.

Fast forward to 2017—everything changed when I discovered a YouTube page demonstrating the use of epoxy resin. That spark of creativity reignited instantly! I dove in headfirst, eager to learn, and got back on track. My passion for painting returned stronger than ever. Creating art became not only a way to escape everyday stress but also a challenge to prove to myself that I could truly thrive in this space.

The feedback from friends, family, and even strangers inspired me to share my work more broadly. Art fills a significant part of my life, and I want to bring that same joy to others.
